Fragments of a decorative mural have been preserved around, under, and inside the splay of the western window in the southern wall of the nave. The mural consists of various diamond-shaped grid patterns, stripes, and dots painted in brownish-red and black colours. The broader decorative band that originally outlined the top of the walls below the ceiling is no longer visible.[1]

Only fragments of the mural have been preserved, and merely along and inside the window splay of the western Romanesque window in the southern wall of the nave.

The construction and painting of the church could have been commissioned by the Benedictine monastery in Gornji Grad, to which the church belonged.
