An addition of a relief decoration in mural painting. It is used for all parts of the mural to emphasise them in relief: halos, crowns, attributes, jewellery, weapons, belts, etc. It can be made of various materials mixed into a single mass: lime, gypsum, chalk, wax, resin, egg, or oil. It is possible to incise lines, stamp patterns, and emboss colourful stones or pieces of glass into the still-soft material.
